My dad was a man of incredible integrity and quiet strength.
My dad was not ostentatious or particularly outgoing.
My dad had an amazing sense of humor.
My dad always showed me unconditional support in every undertaking. He always said, "I don't care if you want to be a stripper. Just be the best stripper you can be."
My dad loved me enough to let me make my own mistakes. (No, becoming a stripper was not one of the mistakes I made!)
My dad kept every note I ever wrote and card I ever made. He still had the award I won for second place in the city wide math contest in 5th grade -- nearly 30 years ago!
My dad adored my girls and lit up every time he saw them bound into a room.
My dad had beautiful blue eyes.
My dad was so very wise and intelligent.
My dad was someone whom I looked forward to talking about nothing with or just hanging out and drinking a beer.
My dad died a year ago today . . . and I miss him terribly. I love you, Daddy!

Oh, DeAnna, I didn't realize what today was.
What you wrote is beautiful. What a nice tribute. Hang in there... I know it's tough!
Ok, I went almost all day without crying thank you! But I almost called you to see if you had Kentucky Fried Chicken for lunch? Thank you for sharing Daddy with me today from your heart - God blessed you with his sense of humor and his beautiful blue eyes too!
what a tribute. I'm sorry I did not realize it had already been a year.
