Taylor returned home today after spending 13-days with Troy's parents in New Mexico. I can't believe she was gone for nearly 1/2 the month of August. I was pleasantly surprised as Taylor actually greeted Kendall with a hug at the airport gate AND let Kendall carry her beloved Purrs (stuffed cat).
"I missed you, Sissy," Kendall exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around Taylor's waist. "I missed you, too," answered Taylor, "AND I brought you a present!"
"Oh, finally, my girls are becoming friends!" I mused to myself as we made our way to baggage claim. It was clear to me that the time away had helped Taylor realize the value of having a sister who totally worships her.
"This surely must be what heaven is like," I thought as the girls held hands in the parking lot on the way to the car.
Then, just after I plunked down my $4 for parking a little over 1/2 hour at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, chaos erupted.
"Hey, that's mine!" Taylor bellowed. "No, it's mine!" Kendall retorted at max volume as they began to bicker over a book in the backseat.
And there, a mere 38 minutes after touchdown, the love fest officially ended.
Next time I'M flying away for 13 days!!
